Bobby App review
The clean, minimalist subscription tracker for iPhone users.
Disclosure: SubTracker.io is operated by Innopulse Consulting GmbH, the same company that operates this website. Full disclosure.
Our Verdict
Bobby is a well-designed iOS-only subscription tracker with a beautiful interface. It's excellent for personal use on iPhone but its lack of Android support, web access and multi-device sync limit its appeal. A solid choice for iPhone-only households who want a simple, privacy-first tracker.
This number is computed, not assigned. It is the weighted average of the criteria below, using weights published in advance and applied identically to every product on this site.
We could verify 7 of 8 criteria for Bobby (90% of the weighting). Because of that gap it is not given a rank position — a product should not climb the table just because we failed to document its weak spots.
| Criterion | Weight | Score |
|---|---|---|
| Privacy & data handlingWhether the app can operate without harvesting your full banking history, and what its policy says about sharing or monetising data. | 15% | 10.0 |
| Bank-connection optionalityWhether you can use the product WITHOUT linking a bank account. Apps that require a bank link score lower here — not because bank sync is bad, but because it removes the user's choice. | 10% | 10.0 |
| Platform availabilityWeb, iOS and Android coverage. Single-platform products score lower because your data becomes device-bound. | 12% | 4.0 |
| EU/EEA suitabilityAvailability to European users, multi-currency handling, and whether the product is designed around European banking and consumer reality. | 13% | 10.0 |
| Core subscription trackingRecording subscriptions with amount, currency, billing interval, renewal date and category. | 15% | 10.0 |
| Renewal remindersWhether the product warns you before a renewal charge, and through which channel. | 10% | 10.0 |
| Reporting & data exportSpending breakdowns, annual projections, and the ability to get your own data back out. | 10% | not verified |
| Pricing & valueCost of the paid tier relative to what it unlocks, and whether a genuinely usable free tier exists. | 15% | 9.7 |
What we did not test
We have not run paid accounts on every product, so we do not score ease of use or support quality, and we do not claim hands-on testing anywhere on this site. This assessment is built from publicly checkable sources: vendor pricing pages, app-store listings and published documentation. We do not hold a primary pricing source on file for Bobby, so treat the figures shown as indicative and check the vendor before paying.

Interface & Design
Bobby has consistently been one of the best-designed subscription apps on iOS. The dashboard is clean and immediately readable — you see your monthly spend, a list of subscriptions and upcoming payment dates at a glance. Adding a subscription is fast. The colour-coded categories make the list scannable.
iOS Only — A Significant Limitation
Bobby's biggest weakness is platform availability. It runs exclusively on iPhone and iPad. There is no Android app, no web interface and no Windows/Mac app. If you need to add a subscription from your computer, access your data on Android, or share with a family member on a different device, Bobby cannot accommodate this.
Privacy
Like SubTracker.io, Bobby is manual-entry only — no bank sync. This is excellent for privacy. Your data stays on your iPhone (iCloud sync for backup), not on Bobby's servers. For users who care about data privacy, this architecture is reassuring.
Pricing
Bobby's one-time purchase option ($14.99) is appealing if you prefer owning rather than subscribing to another subscription. The monthly plan at $2.29/month is slightly cheaper than SubTracker.io Plus but delivers a narrower feature set.
